The Gerber Pocket Sharpener is a compact and convenient tool with which to sharpen all your outdoor knives.
It’s dual purpose design features two sharpening grooves – one with fine ceramic rods for razor-sharp edges and the other with coarse ceramic rods for aggressive sharpening.
The Gerber Pocket Sharpener is really lghtweight and easy to use with protective finger guard although a great deal of caution should be employed in it’s use.The sharpener really is aim at the smaller pocket knife rather than the fully blown thick blades of the common survival knives and as such this is an inexpensive light and effective knife sharpening solution.
I have trialled this on the various small blades that I own and I have to admit that it does work well and does give a good edge to a small blade but the ceramic rods will quickly foul up with waste material making it a more of a disposable option. The sharpener is intended for use in the field to keep an edge on your knives and is in no way suited for sharpening your kitchen knives.
A good and inexpensive addition to a field kit despite it’s minor failings.
