The Victorinox Explorer Knife is widely considered as a good all rounder for bushcraft and camping purposes.
I have avoided these little red devils for years but now I get why Victorinox Knives are good!
I’m sure you are aware if you know me that I’m a mulit-tool man, small pocket knives really haven’t featured on my radar. When I first held this in my hands I realised why I have been do Swiss Army knife averse. The simple reason is as a child I was conned, the Swiss Army knives I was given as a child were fake.. and bad fakes at that.
This knife is testament to quality, it feels like it will last a long time. The blades are rigid and don’t wobble like my child hood wannabes. The handle is solid and a rich red colour, the handles aren’t going to fall off either. There is a multitude of blades that we would expect from such a knife however this comes with a magnifying glass. Such a feature may make you wander its use however it’s excellent for starting fires, I did it!
If you want a knife that will last and you like something that will sit nicely in you pocket then you can’t go wrong.
